Existing Pool Assessment
The Abascal Pools team will come out to your property and assess what can be salvaged and what needs to be replaced. As is often the case, a major pool transformation can be achieved with a new deck surface and new tiles and/or plaster. You can convey your vision for the final product and our team can help create a plan that will meet your needs and your budget.
Design & Preparation
After we know what can be saved and what has to go, we will put our ideas on paper and present to you for revisions. This is often a multi-step process, with numerous refinements based on client feedback. We can even create 3D renderings and virtual tours as a visual reference.
Demolition
Once our plan is accepted, we will begin demolition of your existing pool area. Your project will dictate how much demolition has to be done. The existing plaster and tiles will be chiseled off and possibly sandblasted, and we may even dig up your entire pool deck.
Mechanical Upgrades
This step varies for each client depending on the condition of existing pool systems. It may include electrical upgrades, new pool lighting, a new filtration system, and/or the addition of a salt cell chlorination system.
Tile & Coping
The next step is to reinstall your new waterline tile and pool coping. Tile is usually made of porcelain or ceramic and is specially designed for outdoor pool applications. We'll also install your new pool coping along the top perimeter of your pool wall.
Deck & Plaster
After the coping has been laid, it's time to complete the pool deck surface and plaster the inside of the pool. Plastering a pool is the last steps and it's best to start filling the pool with water upon completion of the plaster setting. At this time, you could be swimming in as little as 1-2 days!!!
Start-up & Chemicals
Most manufacturers recommend letting the pool plaster finish cure for 30 days before adding salt, so Abascal Pools recommends a traditional chlorine start-up for the first month of service. We'll balance the pool water for you, add all appropriate chemicals, and also brush the surfaces according to the manufacturers recommendations. If you've installed a saltwater system, we'll switch over when the time is right.
